Valerie started pet sitting as a second job while an undergrad and continued pet sitting during her accounting career. Over the years, through pet sitting, foster work, wildlife volunteering and caring for her own companion animals, she has had excellent opportunities to learn from pets with various temperaments and needs.
Pup ’s Me Time was created after discovering a common hotel policy of not allowing dogs be left unattended in the room. Valerie felt her dogs would be happier resting in the hotel room rather than waiting in the car or being with unfamiliar dogs at a daycare.
Canine Massage Therapy services were offered after discovering the benefit of massage with her adopted mastiff mixes from the dog meat trade industry. The dogs had to overcome fear of being touched. They also benefited from a muscle conditioning/stretching program to make up for lack of movement while living in cages for years.
"Pet sitting offers me the opportunity to meet a variety animals, learn their temperaments, encourage them to have fun and view the time away from their human family as a vacation." - Valerie
"Over the years, Val has watched our dogs (and our house) on numerous occasions, while were out of town. I ’ve rarely met a person who is so devoted and passionate towards animals, and we knew our dogs were in good hands. Her love of animals is reflected in the great dogs and birds she counts as her family, and how happy our dogs were while in her care. Before we met Val, we would use a local kennel service and would subsequently have to deal with behavior problems such as separation anxiety... no more. My one and only complaint is that she has moved too far away and can no longer care for the four legged members of our family.
I would not hesitate to recommend Val to take care of your pets. They will be cared for as if they were her own, and may not even want to come home!"
Val is a gifted and talented “dog whisperer ”. My fur babies Trixie and Desmo never wanted to leave when they were in her care. I always felt she loved them as if they were her own. It ’s hard to put a price tag on that kind of care.
If you love your pups, treat them to some Val time. It ’ll be the best investment you make for your pup and yourself!
